Volunteers from the Toronto Central chapter supported the senior women of Sistering by organizing a day trip to Centre Island in Toronto.
They prepared a lunch and provided public transit and ferry fares from the harbour to the island.
The women were extremely excited as most do not have an opportunity to leave the block in which they live. The group met at the Jack Leyton Ferry dock and headed to Centre Island where they walked around enjoying the flowers and nature.
HOPE worldwide of Canada has been supporting Sistering for a number of years. It is a drop in centre for marginalized, poor and homeless women in Toronto.
