PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, OUR STOCK THE SHELVES DRIVE HAS BEEN POSTPONED. WE WILL UPDATE EVERYONE ONCE THE DRIVE BEGINS AGAIN AT A LATER DATE.
ALL DONATIONS RECEIVED THUS FAR ARE BEING GIVEN TO IN-NEED FIRST NATIONS FAMILIES WHO MUST SOCIAL DISTANCE IN WINNIPEG WHILE THEY SUPPORT FAMILY MEMBERS RECEIVING TREATMENT AT WINNIPEG HOSPITALS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
During the month of March, volunteers from our Winnipeg Chapter are collecting supplies to help youth struggling to make ends meet in our 8th Annual Stock the Shelves Drive.
Non-perishable food and household goods collected will help to replenish the pantry at Winnipeg Child and Family Services (WCFS). This office serves over 100 youth who are trying to transition to live independently – most of whom do not have a family support system where they can go home for a dinner or raid the family fridge. In a world that can be cold and uncaring, these youth have expressed great joy from receiving items from the pantry as it demonstrates that someone cares about them and builds gratitude in them to have been helped through a difficult moment in their lives.
We are looking for any kind of non-perishable food items, toiletries and household cleaning supplies. Quick meals are the most popular but any donation will be very much appreciated and will be put to good use.
Please contact Winnipeg Chapter Director Krista Wiebe before Sunday March 29, 2020 for the drop off location. Please note – donations of goods are preferred but HOPE worldwide Canada is a registered charity and any monetary donations of $20 or more will receive tax receipts.
